Returning Home

We all know that the Sumerian bloodline has dominated Riddle Pine Acres' thoroughbreds. They're the best of the best bred at the private facility and almost always show their stuff on the track.

One such horse was sent out to Australia for all of his career. This was the final season.

Something Wicked was known for his power and his temperament; the story of his near escape at the farm infamous. But was he known for the amazing victories he accumulated throughout his time in front of the crowds?

He was a champion in his own right. That, almost wild, determination and speed brought him to the winners circle more often than not. As a two year old he won five out of his eight starts and was never out of the money. This continued at three with an amazing win against older horses in the Melbourne Cup.

His four year old season was just as great, though ended with only a handful of races when the brute came back with a sore tendon. It was decided that, after some recovery, he would be able to make his mark once more in the coming season. Would his grandeur continue in his final year?

Of course it would. The black bullet was sent out with a bang, winning the Melbourne a second time and even dominating the world famous Dubai World Cup at the new Meydan Racecourse. He could do everything, from racing on dirt and turf to switching over to sand in a totally new environment.

It is now time for him to retire to stud and, hopefully, pass on the skill and heart he revealed time and time again on the track.

The son of the great Defying Gravity had finally come home.
