Sumerian's Retirement

The mood of the day was somber. Crowds lined the Riddle Pine Downs track in order to witness the great chestnut's last appearance in public. A large trailer pulled up and people waited with bated breath as Sumerian was led from the small confines into the saddling ring, blanket concealing his powerful frame. He looked calm and relaxed, just like any champion should.

After prepping the brute in the number one stall, the crowd parted as Sumerian was ridden out onto the main dirt track, neck arched, body in full racing attire except his mask. For once people would be able to see his magnificent face as he galloped the track for the last time.

Slowly a roar picked up as the stallion took off over the dirt, the crowd cheering for him as regular jockey Sage Harrison handled him one last time. Many had tears in their eyes, others praying to see such skill in his offspring. Only time would tell.

Sumerian has finally been retired from the track ^^

We're sure going to miss him but some foals already bred by him have begun to emerge. Stay tuned for his legacy.
